TRIAL LAWYERS SECTION RETREAT TO FEATURE SUPREME COURT JUSTICES, BAR LEADERS
Florida Supreme Court justices and the top leadership of The Florida Bar will join trial lawyers from across the state November 5-7 for the Trial Lawyers Section’s 2026 Membership Retreat in Orlando.
The retreat, which will be held at Universal Loews Sapphire Falls & Royal Pacific, will feature a lineup of programs focused on trial skills, ethics, jury selection, depositions, and alternative dispute resolution.
“This year’s program includes an outstanding lineup of speakers, highlighted by a panel discussion featuring Chief Justice Couriel, Justice Labarga, Justice Muñiz, Justice Grosshans, and Justice Sasso of the Florida Supreme Court,” says TLS Retreat Chair Anisha Patel, noting that Florida Bar President Mike Orr and Florida Bar President-elect Paige Greenlee will also be participating.

The retreat’s programs include:
• Commanding the Witness Universe: Mastering Corporate Rep and Party Depositions, presented by Peter Murnaghan.
• Objection Override: Navigating Evidentiary Battles in Depositions and Trial, presented by Judge Christopher Nash and Judge Patricia Barksdale.
• Inside the Jury Universe: Mastering Jury Selection, presented by Michael Boucher.
• The Ethical Compass: Professionalism and Ethics in an Evolving Trial Universe, a panel discussion featuring Chief Justice John D. Couriel, Justice Jorge Labarga, Justice Carlos G. Muñiz, Justice Jamie R. Grosshans, and Justice Meredith Sasso and moderated by Braxton Gillam.
• Unique Perspectives and Parallel Paths: Arbitration, Mediation, and Resolution Strategy, a panel discussion featuring Judge Donald Mason, Kelly Hamer, and Judge Jennifer Bailey and moderated by Florida Bar President-elect Paige Greenlee.
Conference attendees also are encouraged to attend the section’s Executive Council Meeting and Breakfast Saturday morning.
The retreat includes dinner at Antojito’s on Universal CityWalk and VIP access to two Universal Studios attractions Friday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Additional tickets are available for friends and family, including children, who are encouraged and welcome to attend.
Registration is $590 for Trial Lawyers Section members, $665 for non-section members, and $525 for full-time law college faculty and students. Fee waivers are available for those who meet the requirements.
